Irma Mary Lane

LANE, Irma Mary Teresa – 91 of Dartmouth, passed away on September 16, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Amherst, NS., she was the daughter of the late Leo and Annie ( Robichaud ) LaPierre. Irma worked as a Judge’s Secretary and court reporter in Halifax from 1955 – 1980 and then worked as a receptionist for Dr. Gordon until her retirement in 1995. Because of her love of music and singing it led to her becoming a member of the St. Thomas More Roman Catholic Church choir for 35 years and then St. Clement Roman Catholic Church choir for 10 years. She enjoyed her painting and exercise classes and the many friendships formed. Irma’s fondest activity was travelling with Scott cherishing her memories of their five trips to Hawaii. Just being in the car going anywhere brought her great joy and passing a gift shop was never an option, every trip and special time with family and friends was carefully documented in her many photo albums and scrapbooks. She will be dearly missed by her family as they relied on her extraordinary memory to fill in all the missing pieces. Irma had a zest for life and shared her enthusiasm with everyone she encountered during her life adventure. She is survived by her loving son; Scott, of Dartmouth, nieces; Lori Anne (Jack) Nicolle, New Maryland, NB., and Karen (Paul) Shea, of Keswick Ridge, NB., six great nieces and nephews, 11 great great nieces and nephews; Dylan, Avery, Beckett, Chase, Lillian, Sophia, Kayden, Breanne, Greysen, Anna and Connor. She was predeceased by her husband; Russell, brother; Robert. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 pm on Thursday, September 23, in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Funeral mass will be 1 pm Friday, September 24, in St. Clement Roman Catholic Church, the Divine Mercy Parish. Burial will take place in Amherst, NS., at a later date. No flowers by request.
