June Marie Macdonald

Macdonald, June Marie – 86 of Dartmouth, passed away on March 25, 2017 in the Ocean View Continuing Care Centre. Born in New Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Fraser and Violet (Massie) Holmes of Trenton, NS. She married Hugh Scott Macdonald of Stellarton on September 20, 1950. June was a lifelong active member of the order of the Eastern Star, having served in many capacities including Worthy Grand Matron. She was passionate in her charitable endeavours and gave freely of her time, talent and resources. She is survived by her sons; Fraser (Yvonne) of London, ON, Keith (Delores) of Wainright, AB, Andrew (Colleen) of Saskatoon, SK and Robert (Suzanne) of Brampton, ON, her sister; Eva Dee of Trenton, 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband; Scott, daughter; Jean Elizabeth, brothers; Andrew and Alexander. Visitation will take place from 2-4 and 6-8pm with an Eastern Star Service at 6pm on Tuesday, March 27, in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street. A memorial service will take place at 11 am on Wednesday, March 28, in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 216 School Street, Rev. Dr. P. A. Sandy McDonald officiating.
