

Karl was highly respected in the construction/ Masonry industry. He was a master of his trade. Never truly retiring, Karl worked on stone and brick projects along side his son well into his 90s.
Karl loved the beauty of nature. He loved to cook and travel, especially by train. The best years of his life were spent at his camp on Porters Lake. He especially enjoyed sitting by the water and having a cool beer with his friends and family on warm sunny days.
He is survived by his daughters Monika Kretschmar and Veronika Schmidt; son Terry (Gitte) Schmidt; grandchildren Alix (James) Rayner, Christine (Alex Haynes) Lorimer, Erik Schmidt and Brett Schmidt; Great granddaughter Emmie Rayner.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday Nov 6th at 10am in A L Mattatalls Funeral Home, 217 Portland St, Dartmouth. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, proof of vaccination, ID and masks are required.
