Roué, Lawrence 'Laurie' James - 83, a life-long resident of Dartmouth, passed away April 16, 2015 at home with loved ones. He was the son of the late James Roué and Evelyn (Myers) Roué/Spencer. Loving father to Joan, beloved brother to Jeanne (Fraser) Robinson of Burlington, ON, and uncle to many adoring nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife and sweetheart of 55 years, Dorothy 'Mae'; they are together again. He worked as a top salesman of General Motors vehicles for more than 30 years and his greatest passions, besides his family and friends, were his cars - always the cleanest and usually the fastest, old-time fiddle music, and stock car racing. He will be greatly missed by all, especially family pets Jessie and Rex. Special thanks to his VON nurses and Wendy W. at Continuing Care. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, from 2 – 4 pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, Portland Street, Dartmouth. Service will be held on Monday, April 20, at 11 am in the Church of the Holy Spirit, Gaston Road, Dartmouth. Burial to follow. Reverend Edwin Ebsary officiating. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the IWK Foundation Building Fund, benefactor of his favorite race of the year, the IWK 250.
