

THOMAS Phyllis “Lorraine” - 77, of Dartmouth passed in comfort, peace - with speed, on October 31, 2021, at Northwood Terrace, 6C circled in the care and love of her step-daughter Charlene Thomas. Born in Dutch Settlement with the skillful aid of a midwife, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Annie McMullin who instilled her bond and respect for family. Lorraine in her earlier years moved to Dartmouth and enjoyed employment at the NS Hospital, Woodside. She resided in nurses residence. It was there she met her long - time friend Brenda Ward (Neary) who remained a steadfast care-partner while at Northwood, extending their bond into Lorraines end of life. Lorraine enjoyed an evening of dancing, the love of music came from her childhood in the kitchen of her home with her older sister, Viola. She was an avid walker. Lorraine loved to cook, bake and engage in conversation. In later years those skills were put to good use joining her faith family at Victoria Road, Baptist Church serve its community. Where she dedicate and extended her love of music, love of shared faith, during her years as a member of the church choir. Lorraine enjoyed her life, she work hard, loved hard and had a soft spot, an understanding and respect for those, others may have passed by. She was predeceased by parents Charles and Annie McMullin, Dutch Settlement, husband, Charles Thomas “Charlie”, sister Viola Isenor, Carrolls Corner. She is survived by her brother, Garnet (Audrey) McMullin, birth son, Anthony Isenor (Tony) who was lovingly raised by her sister, his mother, Viola Isenor whom Lorraine held close and in high regard. Step-Children Charlene (Debbie), Pamela (Paul), Kevin, John, Billy Thomas, all of Dartmouth. Grandchildren, Ryan Spicer, Lori-Anne Thomas, Katie and David Thomas . Great-grandchild, Emery Caitlyn Spicer, all of Dartmouth. Nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, particularly close to her Uncle Earl, completed her family circle of love. Cremation has taken place . Funeral service Tuesday, November 9, at 2 pm in Victoria Road, United Baptist Church, Dartmouth. Rev. Emmanuel Mutale officiating. Interment following, St Peter’s Cemetery, Victoria Road. Donations may be made to NS Alzthimers Association, Northwood Terrace 6C, SPCA, Victoria Rd Baptist Church, in lieu of flowers. Special acknowledgement to the 6C Team at Northwood Terrace, Halifax Campus for your professional and family-like care, even in the face of staff shortages. Pam Slobodesky, palliative and Comfort nurse, who was in my witness, the transition whisperer. Sonya Marcott, NP who whole heartedly cared for Lorraine prior to LTC. Sonya has a gift of dementias knowledge as well, in making a connection, and advocates passionately for our seniors-a Beacon for us. I feel fortunate to have had you all on ‘ our Team .’ Much gratitude to my mother Eunice Williams, my brother Kevin and my niece, Lori-Anne Thomas for joining me in Lorraine’s care team. Not to forget Lorraines Special family-like friends, Brenda Ward, Leigh Beauchamp-Day and Debbie Saunders. You brought her joy, laughter, connection, enriching her days. Funeral Director Kirk Rudolph, your professionalism and ease made this final journey, as it ought to be, focused on people first - families needs, deceased wishes.
