Gray, Margaret - Passed away peacefully in the Dartmouth General Hospital on Friday May 27th, 2011. Margaret started her career as a teacher in a one room school house in Mooseland. She taught in Musquodoboit and Halifax before coming to Bicentennial Junior High in Dartmouth. Here she spent many happy years working at the profession she dearly loved. She was a pioneer in recognizing that children have different learning skills and many have special needs. A consummate scholar she went to the University of Maine to complete her Master’s in Education. Her degree, not offered in Canada at that time, specialized in Reading Comprehension and Teaching Techniques. Predeceased by her mother Olive, and her father Reginald both of Dartmouth, she is loved by her sister Dorothy Osborne, husband Ed, Toronto; her brother David, wife Janet, Ottawa; and brother Robert, Halifax. She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews and their children. A special thanks to Cher Stewart and Home Instead for all their care. Thank you to Dr. Stacey, Dr. Watson and nurses on TCU. Visitations at 11:30 and service to follow at 12:30 pm in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland Street, Dartmouth on Saturday June 18th. We welcome her old students and friends to remember her life with her family. Family flowers only. Donations to your favourite charity.
