

The family of Mary Treby Leverman is saddened to announce her sudden passing on Monday, July 31, 2023 at the Admiral Long Term Care Home, Dartmouth. She was predeceased by her parents, Laurie Evelyn (Wilson) and Gerald Allen Leverman and her brothers, Gerald and Graham.
Mary is survived by brother, Phillip (Rosalie) and sister (and best friend) Mildred, as well as nieces, Ann, Jill, and Tina, Denise, Jeannie, Cathy and Linda, Debbie and her “favourite” (only) nephew Ted. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews including “children of her heart” Scott, Sara and Stuart.
Mary graduated from the Halifax Vocational School and Dalhousie University. As well, she received her B.Ed and M.A. from Mt. Saint Vincent. She taught for 30 years in the Dartmouth School System.
She was a former member of the Dartmouth General Hospital Auxiliary, volunteered at the Circle of Care Furniture Bank and belonged to Plan Canada for more than 35 years.
Mary liked cooking, bridge, travelling, the outdoors and “collecting” until Parkinson’s Disease prevented them. She was still able to enjoy reading and especially music. She loved spending time with family.
Special thanks to Gail and Wanda for the help and support they gave Mary in difficult times.
Cremation has taken place. Following Mary’s wishes there will not be a visitation or funeral.
