

Woodrow, Morah (Matheson) - Dartmouth/formally of Sydney. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Morah Woodrow in the Dartmouth General Hospital on April 18th, 2012. Born in New Waterford, Cape Breton, Mom was the daughter of the late Neil and Sarah (Johnson) Matheson. Mom was a long time member of St Andrew’s United Church in Sydney, where she taught Sunday school and was an active leader in CGIT. Through the years, Mom became well known for her skills in knitting, rug hooking, and her beautiful quilts prized by all. Although initially trained as a stenographer in Sydney, Mom devoted her life to raising her children and providing care for numerous friends and family members. Mom will be greatly missed by her daughters; Mary, Nebraska, Sarah, Greenwood, Maureen (Mike), sons; Patrick Myles (Veronica), James (Brenda), all of Dartmouth, John, (Melanie) Alabama, and Michael (Tanya), Oromocto NB and sister; Marcie (Frank) Rogers, Yarmouth NS. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 54 years, James Andrew, a grandson James Andrew in infancy, eight brothers and one sister. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 20th from 1-3 and 6-9 PM. Funeral service will be held on Sat. April 21st at 1:30 PM at A. L. Mattatall’s Funeral Home, 217 Portland St., Dartmouth officiated by Pastors Jay and Sharon Guptill. Interment will be on Monday April 23rd at 2 pm in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Dr Milne and the staff of the Dartmouth General Hospital for their wonderful care and support of our Mom.
