

McGraw, Nicholas J. – 89 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully December 14, 2014 in the Shannex – Bissett Court. Born in Boishebert / St. Isisdore, NB. He was the son of the late Omer and Suzanne (Robichaud) McGraw. Nicholas spent 21 years in the Royal Canadian Navy, first as a stoker, then as a hull technician – retired December 1966 as Chief Petty Officer Second Class. He retired again in 1986 as shop technician in the psychology department at Dalhousie University. His hobbies were making Maple syrup, going to dances at the legion in Neguac, NB; as well as working on his wife’s quilts. He is survived by his loving wife Doris (DeBaie) of 28 years; his sons Michael, David (Lana); daughters Patty (Bobby), Maureen (Marc), Peggy (Keith), Joanne (Matt); brothers Eusebe (Angela), Elzear (Laetitia) Rev. Father Fortunat, Robert (Raymonde); sisters Edith (Noel) and Thérèse; 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his siblings Gerald, Alice, Irene, Rita and Marcella; great granddaughter, Violette Gofton at birth. Visitation will be held 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm on Friday December 19, in A. L. Mattatall Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will held 10 am Saturday December 20, in Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church. Father Charles Burke officiating. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Nova Scotia.
