

BHOLA, Phyllis Elaine Rita, 90, Dartmouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Sunday, April 15, 2012 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in San Fernando, Trinidad, West Indies she was the daughter of the late James and Agnes (Prayag) Partap. She was predeceased by her loving husband of forty-four years, Hamilton; Sisters Inez and Dorothea. She was a student nurse in Trinidad and upon marriage devoted her life to her husband and children. She was President of the Akashbani Presbyterian Church Women’s Group in Siparia, Trinidad for many years. When she came to Canada in 1967, she then soon became a proud member of the St. James United Church and a lifelong member of the Miriam United with the U.C.W. She loved the Lord with all her heart and always wanted to serve him. She was an active member of the Carindo Cultural Association and enjoyed cooking and was well known for her Trinidadian Specialties. She also enjoyed crocheting, needle-point and sewing. She was fortunate to travel to various parts of the world and loved to spend time visiting with family and friends. She is survived by five children, Lincoln (Grace), Trinidad; Lystra (Mohinder Kauldher), Vancouver, BC; Kelvin (Diane), Dartmouth; Kenneth (Vivian), Elliot Lake, ON; Wayne (Ann), Truro; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. Visitation to be held in Dartmouth at the A.L. Mattatall Funeral Home, 217 Portland St, Dartmouth on Friday, April 20 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 21 at 2 p.m. in St. James United Church, 181 Portland St, Dartmouth. No flowers by request. Donations in her honor can be made to St. James United Church, the Dartmouth General Hospital TCU or a charity of your choice.
