Just found out this morning about Steven's passing. Apologies for my tardiness in offering condolences. Steven and I were great friends growing up. 
I had not seen him for a long time, and this I regret. I will miss him and his shenannigans.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Mantley family. Stevie brought many fun times and laughs growing up in downtown Dartmouth. One of many thoughts I have is a train ride to Bathurst (9 hours) to meet the Doucet Family... he was well liked there.

My deepest sympathy and condolences to the Mantley family.  I grew up on Hawthorne St. and have many fond memories of Steven.  My fondest memory is of his smile and that "twinkle" in his eye.  I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Our entire family had many years of laughter, tears and humour, with stevie ,during our time on Elliot Street,, Steveie would be spooked about something ,and Mom would have to run him home,, we remember so many good times,, Stevie was a character all of his own,, there was not a mean bone in his body,, he respected and loved his Mother above all,, he will be sadly missed on this earth,, but, we know he will be a great Assett and angel ,, to watch over his family,, we pray for you in this time of mourning,, condolances to all,, Sincerely the Gibson- Woodworth family

Sincere condolences to the Mantley family.I grew up all around the Pleasant/Portland St./Prince Albert Road area during the 70's & remember Stevie well.He was one of Life's true characters.He always thought the house I lived in was haunted & could never sit still when he visited.Many shared laughs that's for sure over the years!Rest in Peace Stevie.

Growing up across the street, on Erskine Street with Stephen as our neighbor, sure made life growing up fun! I know that there were a few incidents of me running home, could never outrun Steve, he would always catch me. Looking back now I am thankful for growing up in a wonderful neighborhood, where kids played outside all day, cared for each. Stephen was a kid one could never forget. My deepest condolences to the Mantley family,especially Mrs. Mantley.

 Steve was a close dear friend of mine for nearly 4 decades. I am so glad I had spent time with him back in January! Gave us time to catch up on things. I, and many others were looking forward to him coming home.  Stevie you will be sadly missed by your " buddy " ( as he called me )

I grew up with Steven and Lionel. All through grade school at Hawthorn we had great fun in track and field. Steven always made everyone laugh. One time in particular he was rowing a boat across Lake Banook and signing "Rock the boat, don't rock the boat baby!" at the top of his lungs. You could hear it everywhere! My condolences to the Mantley family. I wish I could be there. A special hello to Lionel - a long time and forever friend.

Although your hearts are heavy and it is hard to understand, just trust in the Lord he will give you strength. Growing up on Erskine Street, with Stephen as our neighbor, sure made life interesting!   I know that there were a few incidents of me running home crying, about something little Stevie had done, to either me or my playmates.   I can look back now, and be thankful for growing up in a safe neighborhood, where kids played outside, all day, and got into a wee bit of trouble now and then.   Stephen was a memorable character, who grew into such a fine man.   I am proud to say that he was my neighbor.   My deepest condolences to the Mantley family.
