
Ritcey, Vera – 91, formerly of Dartmouth, passed away at Annapolis Royal Nursing home on January 8th, 2016. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Waldron and born in Hilltop Nottinghamshire, England in 1924. Vera came to Halifax in 1946 as a war bride on the Aquitania through Pier 21 to start her life in Canada with her new husband. She is predeceased by her husband Owen Ritcey Sr. and Sister Joan Groom. She is survived by her children: Owen Ritcey Jr. (Rhonda), Porters Lake, Jim Ritcey (Janis) Dartmouth, Carol Thorne (David) Granville Ferry. Grandchildren: Jackie, Scott, Pamela, Jennifer, Stephanie, Christine and Stephen and ten great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of the Annapolis Royal Nursing Home for the care and kindness they gave Vera during her stay there. Graveside service to be held at 1:30pm on Sunday January 17th, 2016 at Musquodoboit Harbour Community Cemetery located behind First United Church, 7964 Highway #7 Musquodoboit Harbour. Reception to follow at The Royal Canadian Legion Eastern Marine Branch 161, 6644 Hwy #7, Gaetz Brook.
