Visitation will be Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 5-8 pm at the mortuary.
Her final resting place will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery.
Abba was born in Louisiana, MO to Eddie and Anna (Rubymeyer) Jewell. She married Edward Duett on July 5, 1956, in Independence, MO. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2010.
She worked as a nurse’s aide for Ridgecrest for 29 ½ years prior to retiring in 2004. She loved listening to country music and cooking, known for her chicken and sausage dumplings and tuna casserole. Abba also enjoyed watching mystery shows like Matlock and Scooby Doo along with televangelist shows. She often could be found feeding the birds, squirrels and other animals that happened to wander into her yard. Although a very headstrong person, she was very generous to her family and various charities over the years.
Those left to honor her memory are her children: Thomas (Tammy) Duett, Terry (Jeff) Boese, Todd (Tammy) Duett, and Teresa (Richard) Russell, 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Abba was preceded in death by a son, Timothy, her eldest child which she lovingly cared for until his passing in 2019, and siblings: Raymond, Vernon, Viola, Robert and Peggy.
