

Funeral services for Albert William Tank, 82, of Walcott, IA, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Al passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf.
Albert was born on July 7, 1935 in Davenport, son of John and Leona (Wenndt) Tank. In 1953, Al graduated from Davenport High School. On September 20, 1958, he married Mary E. Sourdiff in Davenport. She passed away in 1990. He married Gwen J. Wooldridge on June 11, 1991 in Tennessee. She passed away in 2012. He opened 'Al's Transmission' in 1971. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), North Scott Rotary, and the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association (ATRA). A strong supporter in the formation of the German American Heritage Museum, he served as past President of the board.
He is survived by Daughter: Joan (Tom) Kaasa, Davenport; Son: David Tank, Springfield, KY; Honorary Daughter: Carrie (David) Meumann, Davenport; five Sisters: Shirley (Joe) Weston, Davenport, Janice Simmons, Orlando, FL, Marian (Bob) Stroupe, Davenport, Sharon (John) Meister, Long Grove, IA, Theresa (Jack) Hodges, Davenport; four Brothers: Robert (Sharon) Tank, Davenport, Mel Tank, Lacon, IL, Alvin (Nancy) Tank, Davenport, John (Kathy) Tank Jr., Geneseo, IL; a Grandson: Zachary Tank, Springfield, KY; 3 Step-Grandchildren: T.J. Kaasa, Bettendorf, Brandon Swanson, Louisville, KY, Nicole (Chad) Payton, Bowling Green, KY; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by brother, Terry Tank.
Memorials may be directed to the German American Heritage Museum, Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, or to the family.
