Otto and Lauraine J. (Felt) Jensen. On October 21, 1950, in Seattle, WA, she was united in marriage to Charles Miller. He preceded her in death on July 3, 2009.
Left to carry on her memory include daughter-in-law, Sherri (Fritz) Miller and sons, Greg (Deb) Miller and Ken (Darlene) Miller. She was a proud grandmother to Kristopher, Nic, Ethan, Karin, Kai and Ali and a proud great-grandmother to Amelia, Gideon, Elijah, Grace, Noelle, Chloe and Adele. In addition to her parents and husband, Alice was preceded in death by her first- born son, Frederick “Fritz” Miller, sister, Lauraine “Judy” and special nephews, Robert “Bobby” and Thomas “Tom” Gruber.
As a grandmother, Alice loved sharing adventures with all of her grandchildren and she loved making each outing a learning experience.
Alice and Chuck lived in Madison, WI for many years where they were active in the churches they attended, especially Bashford Presbyterian Church and the Sherman Avenue United Methodist Church. In addition, Alice together with Chuck were members of the University of Wisconsin, “Friends of Foreign Students” group. Over the years, they sponsored several international students who attended the University.
As the matriarch of the family, Alice spent many hours researching and recording the ancestry of the Miller, Jensen and Felt families. She took great pride in her Danish heritage and was fortunate enough to be able to visit Denmark to connect with her relatives there after Chuck’s retirement.
Alice was also an avid cross-stitcher, creating many projects over the years that she generously gave to friends and family. She was an avid animal lover and often donated to causes associated with the fair and humane treatment of animals and the preservation of endangered species. She especially enjoyed bird watching. Special fur-babies in her life through the years included Molly, Bridget and Nellie.
The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Genesis Hospice, The Vistas and the 4th floor cardio step-down unit at Mercy One Genesis for the kind and caring support given to Alice and her family throughout her recent illness. Your kindness will never be forgotten!
