Amos "Bud" Peek Jr.

Amos “Bud” Peek, Jr passed through this life on April 18, 2026. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 23, 2026 at Weerts Funeral Home. His funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 24, 2026, also at Weerts Funeral Home. Bud will be laid to rest at Davenport Memorial Park. Bud was born on May 23, 1947, in Norfolk, Virginia, to his proud parents, Amos and Dorothy Peek. At the young age of six, Bud lost his father in a tragic boating accident. He was blessed with the love and support of his grandparents, who helped his mother raise him and instilled in him the strong, honest values that defined his life.

Bud graduated from Bettendorf High School in 1966 and went on to serve his country in the United States Army, including 16 months in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive. After his honorable discharge, he returned to the Quad Cities, where he met the love of his life, Deloris “Dee” Schrey. The two were married and shared 55 wonderful years together—years filled with love, laughter, and devotion.

Together, Bud and Dee were blessed with two children, Todd and Renee. Bud spent most of his working years at Cargill Inc. at the Buffalo plant, where he built lasting friendships with his coworkers.

Bud was a man admired by all who knew him. He was known for his honesty, kindness, and willingness to help anyone in need. A devoted Christian, Bud began each day reading his Bible while enjoying a cappuccino. Above all, he cherished his roles as a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his wife, Dee; his daughter, Renee(Joe); his grandchildren, Megan(Austin), Brady(Hannah), Cheyanne, and Beka(Jake); his two great-grandchildren; his brother, Richard (Joy); his niece and nephews, Brad, Sarah, Alex, and Andrew; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved son, Todd, and his nephew, Brandon.
