Andrew Hans Cook, 99, of Davenport passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at UnityPoint ~ Trinity in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held, Sunday, August 31, 2014 2:30 p.m. at the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Andrew Cook was born on September 2, 1914 the son of Frank and Matie (Roehlk) Cook, in a small town in Northwest Iowa. He lived in Rock Island most of his adult life. He was a graduate of Moline High School. Andrew was united in marriage to Gertrude (Wagner) Cook on June 22, 1940. She preceded him in death in 1995. He was the owner/operator of the former Rock Island Typewriter Co. in Rock Island for 42 years. He was previously a longtime member of the Elks Club. In his younger years he loved hunting, fishing, and traveling. He is survived by his 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn (Robert) Loyd, Davenport; Marilyn (Thomas) Oertley, Peoria, IL; 3 grandchildren, Amanda Hill, Chicago, IL, Adam Oertley, Peoria, IL, Christel Loyd, Rochester, MN; great granddaughters, Samantha and Audry Hill, Chicago, IL
