Annabelle Adolphi, 84, of Princeton, IL, formerly of Davenport, passed away Saturday at Colonial Hall Nursing Center in Princeton with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, February 24, 2011 at Cedar Memorial Christian Church in Davenport. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00PM Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at the Runge Mortuary. Burial will be Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church. Annabelle was born on October 8, 1926 in Phillipsburg, MO, the daughter of George B. and Martha D. (Ross) Wood. She married Elliott Adolphi on June 12, 1943 in Lebanon, MO.
She worked as a detailer at Thompson and Son’s Trailer Sales and also in the West High School Cafeteria. Her memberships included Cedar Memorial Christian Church for more than 50 years and the Ladies Auxiliary of the 6th Division 20th Infantry Company D. She was an avid bowler.
She was a lovely lady inside and out with a good sense of humor who always put everyone else ahead of herself. She never said a bad word about anyone.
Those left to honor her memory include five children; Greg (Nancy) Adolphi, De Witt, IA, Bill (Mona) Adolphi, Melrose, IA, Ann (Keith) Dickinson, Princeton, IL, Gene (Karen) Adolphi, Marietta, GA, and Trish Settles, Davenport, IA; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 2 great, great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Wood, Sr.. Avondale, AZ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Shirley, in infancy; and grandson, Tristan.
