Anna Elizabeth Metcalf

Anna E. Metcalf, 95, of Wheatland, IA., passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Wheatland Manor. Funeral services will be held at 12:00P.M., Tuesday, September 13, 2016 in The Runge Mortuary Chapel with visitation 2 hrs. prior to service time beginning at 10AM. Anna was born the daughter of William and Margaret (Linse) Ubbens on November 20, 1920 in New York. She was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Metcalf on November 20, 1941 in Bellaire, New York. They loved each other truly for 62 years. He died January 13, 2004. She and her husband made their life together for many years in Long Island, N.Y., later relocating to Davenport for his work. Anna was a loving wife and an incredible mother whose life was centered around her family, enjoying all the little details of tending to her home and flower gardens. Anna and her husband enjoyed their many beautiful collections together. She is survived by her children Kenneth A. Metcalf, Marco Island, FL and Dale (Paul) Meyer, Eldridge; grandchildren Kenneth W. Metcalf, Minneapolis, MN, Dawn (Jason) Fahrenkrog, Eldridge, and Brad (Emily) Meyer, Eldridge; and great grandchildren Dallas and Blake Fahrenkrog, Eldridge. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff and all friends at Wheatland Manor for their constant love and support.
