Annebelle L. Fierce

Funeral services for Annabelle L. Fierce, 88, of Davenport, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Mrs. Fierce died on Thursday, November 28, 2013 at the Kahl Home in Davenport.Annabelle Lois Young was born on March 20, 1925 in Oglesby, IL, the daughter of Brigham and Nancy (Cox) Young. She was raised by Thomas Cox, whom she called “Dad”, until her marriage to Warren Fierce on May 17, 1947 in Davenport.Mrs. Fierce worked for a number of years for the Davenport Community School District in Food Services retiring in 1989. Her greatest joy was being a wife and mom. She also enjoyed camping, dancing, and playing bingo. She was a member of Cedar Memorial Christian Church in Davenport. Surviving members of the family include – a daughter: Annabelle (Dennis) Asleson of Grand Mound, IA; 4 sons: Warren (Linda) of Davenport, Charles of Madison, WI, Thomas (Debbie) of West Plains, MO, and Russel (Margaret) of Silvis, IL; a sister Mary Skinner of MO; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, her husband, and a grandson, Timothy.Memorials may be left to the Kahl Home or Cedar Memorial Christian Church.The family very much appreciates and is thankful to the staff of the Kahl Nursing Home and Genesis hospice for the professional and compassionate care provided to their mother.
