

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Ardell Jane Staub, 78, of Davenport will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19th, 2019 at the Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. The family will greet friends on Monday, February 18th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary. Mrs. Staub passed away on Friday, February 15th at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport.
Ardell Jane Hoepner was born in Davenport, Iowa on December 11th, 1940, the daughter of Delmar and Ardis (Smith) Hoepner. Following her graduation from Davenport High School she attended and graduated from Paris Academy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. On May 1, 1960 she married Donald Louis Staub and worked as a beautician until 1965.
Upon starting a family in 1965, Ardell's career changed from beautician to a family leader and she remained in that role until her passing. She devoted her time to her family and helping others. Ardell was a room mother, a chaperone, active in the school's PTA, a Cub Scout den leader, booster club and other various entities. Ardell had a passion for crafts, reading and gardening; she enjoyed counted cross stitch, needlepoint, china painting, ceramic work among other crafts she took up over the years. She also was passionate about her granddaughter's interests and activities.
She will be remembered for her kind heart, generosity, wonderful meals, secret recipe cookies, creative birthday/Easter cakes and her quick wit.
Surviving members of her family include- her husband: Don of Davenport; 2 sons; Dan (Michele) Staub of Des Moines, Iowa, and Dave (Susan Edwards) Staub of Greensboro, NC; a Granddaughter: Morgan; and a Brother: Richard (Pam) Hoepner of Orlando, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Delmar Jr.
