Ardis was born in Davenport on February 28, 1933 to Walter and Laura (Bohm) Holdt. She was a proud member of the Davenport High Class of 1950. Ardis was united in marriage to Robert Lange in 1957 until his death in 1964. In 1965, she married Glenn Viviani and remained his loving life partner until his death in 2007.
Ardis is survived by her children – Greg Viviani (Davenport), Lori (Hal) Winckler (North Liberty, IA.) Lisa (Bill) McKirgan (Cedar Rapids, IA), Vicki (Randy) Stoebner (Davenport), Gwen (Ron) Smith (Davenport) and Debbie (Nick) Dockum (Sugar Land, TX) and her grandchildren – Emily and Alyssa Winckler, Travis Stoebner, Sarah and Melissa Smith, Nicholas (Tiffany) Dockum (who is currently serving with the U.S. Army in Iraq), and Tony (Amanda) Dockum, as well as 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Betty Lange.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Glenn, first husband Bob; her parents and favorite grandmother, May Zak Bohm; sister and brother-in-law Marilyn and Glenn Bankson; step-father Maurice Bennett; in-laws Tony and Dorothy Viviani and Marie Lange; life-long friend Donna Mahoney; and her cherished granddaughter, Elizabeth Ann Winckler.
Memorials may be made to the Handicapped Development Center (Davenport) or Iowa City Hospice.
Ardis especially loved her time with Glenn-dancing the waltz, league bowling and camping in the RV. She, Glenn and Greg loved visiting Branson.
She also enjoyed being with her friends-playing cards and gossiping with her card club, bowling with the Go-Go Girls league and talking with her friends from Kartridg Pak. She adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all of her heart.
The last years were not easy, especially after losing Glenn. Ardis wanted everyone to know that, as much as she loved them, she was ready to leave and rejoin those who had gone before. She is dancing the waltz with Glenn in Heaven.
