Bertha M. Bowers, 98, of Davenport, formerly of Milledgeville, Illinois, passed away Monday, December 20, 2010 at the Kahl Home in Davenport. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm, Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Oak Knoll Memorial Park Cemetery in Sterling, Illinois. Online condolences may be made at www.rungemortuary.com.
She was born October 1, 1912 in Mount Carroll, Illinois, the daughter of George and Lula (Warfield) Van Buskirk. She married Howard Robinson. He preceded her in death. She later married Rolland Bowers. He also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Bowers was a farmer prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Grange Hall in Milledgeville for 25 years.
Survivors include a son: Richard K. Robinson of Rockford, Illinois; grandchildren and spouses: Leanne and Steven Earhart of Hampton, Illinois, Randy and Retha Bender of Bettendorf, Carman and Clyde Pitts of Milledgeville, and Bradley Robinson of Rockford; six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Helen Bender in 1985.
