Bruce B. Hokanson

There will be a celebration of life held Thursday, May 30, 2024 1pm – 3pm at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory Davenport, IA. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society and you can share condolences with the family at www.rungemortuary.com.

Bruce was born August 30, 1932 in Ottumwa, IA to Guy & Helen (Jones) Hokanson. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Bruce had been employed at Castle Excavating Bettendorf as an estimator for 40 plus years prior to his retirement. After retirement he went on to drive school bus for the Pleasant Valley School System for 10 years until he retired a second time.

Bruce was very active and earlier in life he had enjoyed clogging, swing dancing, roller skating, bowling, ran the Bix in his 60’s, and was just mowing his yard last week.

Those left to honor his memory include his daughter, Stacey (Joseph) Fennell, Hobbsville, NC; grandchildren, Jack (Erica) Henry, Chesapeake, VA, Savannah (Matthew) Cody, Clinton, MA, and Johanna (Edward) Copeland, Columbus, SC; and great grandchildren, Isabella & Carmine Henry.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Obert, James, and Val Hokanson; and sister, Donna Mae Felman.
