Carl J. Westerhof, Sr., 93, of Davenport passed away Friday, December 31, 2010 at Riverview Manor Nursing Home in Pleasant Valley, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 am Wednesday at the mortuary. He was born June 12, 1917 in Davenport, the son of John and Elizabeth Westerhof. He was an Army veteran of World War II. On May 12, 1943 he married Betty Kibbler in Davenport. She preceded him in death on December 27, 2003.
Mr. Westerhof was employed by H&W Motor Express in Davenport for 28 years prior to his retirement in 1976. He enjoyed fishing with his son, Carl Westerhof, Jr.
Survivors include children: daughters Sandra George (Dave), Donna Gauf, Linda Westerhof, and Carl Westerhof, Jr.; eight grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
