

Carol J. Finch-Kempt, 74, of Bettendorf, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at Genesis East Medical Center. Cremation rites were accorded. A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 12:00 noon at The Runge Mortuary. Inurnment will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Carol was born April 14, 1940 in Rock Falls, IL; the daughter of Kenneth and Jessie (Phialmlee) Bryant. She was united in marriage to Carroll D. “Denny” Kempt on June 10, 1995 in Bettendorf.
She worked as the Savanna Army Depot as a draftsman from 1966 until 1976. She transferred to HQ, AMCCOM on the Rock Island Arsenal and retired in April 1993 as the accountable property officer, GS-12.
She served in the Navy Reserve with the Cincpac unit from August 1979 to June 1988 as a storekeeper Petty Officer First Class.
She is survived by her husband, Denny Kempt, Bettendorf; sons: Gary Keehner and Wife, Belinda, Clinton, IA and Richard Keehner Jr. and wife, Kimberly, Villa Park, IL; two step-daughters, Vicki Jakovich and husband, Scott, Laguna Niguel, CA and Patti Cuomo, Sandy Springs, GA, six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Dan Bryant and a sister, Patsy Lind.
