She was born on August 14, 1944, to Virgil Clark and Ann Iwan of Central City, Nebraska. Carol grew up on a farm but traveled the United States extensively in her youth with her husband. She was a caring and artistic soul, with a keen sense of self and a spirit of adventure. Carolyn loved to paint, sew, hike, knit, read, and travel. She was dedicated to her family, church, pets, and plants, striving constantly to make the world a better place for her children.
It was not always easy, but Carolyn played to role of hardworking single mother with grace and raised her children right. She had a strong moral compass and strict work ethic, which she passed on to her daughters and employees alike. Whether working as a fingerprint clerk for the FBI in D.C., running a skating rink with her husband in New Mexico, or managing the Great American Cookie Company in Davenport; she believed in doing things the right way the first time. She is fortunate to have led a life full of adventure, friends, love, laughter, and flowers. She will be missed profoundly by the many lives she touched.
She is survived by daughters Tiana Perrigo, Davenport, IA, and Leslie Price (husband Direl), Muncie, IN; five sisters: Barbara Nabity (husband Joe), Mary Pachunka, Frances Sanders, Patty Pechard (husband Dave), Cindy Clark, and many nieces and nephews.
Carol is preceded in death by her brother Robert Clark (and his wife Bonnie), three sisters: Marjorie Uzendowski (and her husband Jerry), Katherine Clark, Virginia Hennigar, Dale Pachunka (Mary’s husband), Ted Sanders (Fran’s husband), and her ex-husband Ernest “Michael” Perrigo (father of her children).
