

Carolyn G. Meuer-Pickering, 71, a life-long resident of Davenport, IA, joined the heavenly host on Friday, August 27, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held to honor her on September 26th, 2021, from 11 to 2, at Prospect Park in Moline, IL.
Carolyn was born September 13, 1949 to William Glenn and Helen Imogene (Mercer) McGinnis in Davenport, IA. On July 13, 1973, she married William “Bill” Meuer, and they were together until his passing on March 23, 2005. On March 7, 2011, Carolyn married Tom Pickering, whom she met online. She was a “born-again” believer in Jesus Christ. Most recently, she had worked in telephone sales for 20 years, finally retiring in 2011.
Carolyn enjoyed doing many different arts and crafts. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Davenport, IA, and the Quad Cities Photography Club (2012-2017) where she scored in the top 10 of members for 3 years.
Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Tom “`Mas” Pickering of Davenport, IA; sons, Brett Riley of Davenport, IA, and Andy Meuer of Moline, IL; daughter, Robyn Nightingale of Bettendorf, IA; grandsons, Collin Martens and Brock Riley both of Davenport, IA, and Beckett Meuer of Moline, IL; along with granddaughters, Cami Meuer of Moline, IL, Hannah Riley of Davenport, and Bryn Nightingale of Bettendorf.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, William Glenn and Helen Imogene (Mercer) McGinnis along with her brother, Jack. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her first husband, William “Bill” Meuer.
