Charles H.J. Allison, a 69-year-old- resident of Clinton, Iowa, died peacefully on December 12 at The Alverno Nursing Home in care of Mercy One Hospice in Clinton, Iowa. He had bravely fought the debilitating advanced stages of Parkinson's for nine months.
He was born in Kansas City, Missouri in Jackson County on March 20, 1955. Charles graduated from the Des Moines University College of Podiatry and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He had a private practice in Clinton, Iowa and he served on the Mercy One Hospital Board. When he was not performing surgery or seeing patients in his office, he served the surrounding communities by visiting nursing homes to treat patients that could not get to a podiatrist.
Charles was very proud to have served his country in the military (Air Force) and active in politics. He had been candidate for public office (Secretary of State). Prior to his death he was invited to President Elect Trump's Inaugural event in January 2025. He was against the Ukraine War and supported the freedom of the people under attack by the Russian government.
Charles was a Sub Deacon in the Orthodox faith, and he was very active in serving on the Altar and helping others in any way he could. Charles love all his children and interacted with them at every opportunity. He enjoyed watching movies, going for walks, working out at the gym and having dinner at restaurants with his wife.
Charles is survived by his wife, Margarita, and his loving children.
Weerts Funeral Home is administering interment arrangements at the final resting place, The Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2024.
