A memorial service in Cheryl’s honor will be held on Monday, December 23, 2019 at 2pm at Weerts Funeral Home, Jersey Ridge and Kimberly. Memorials in her name may be made to a charity of your choice.
Cheryl was born in 1965 to Melvin McClain in Corona, CA. She graduated from Corona High School in 1983. Following graduation, she went to cosmetology school and became a hairdresser. In 2008, she moved to Davenport, Iowa where she was re-united with the love of her life, “Storman” Norman Berglund. She and Storman opened up their home to the neighborhood kids, they called her Momma Cheryl. Cheryl loved to cook and was well known for her famous grilled cheese sandwiches. She loved doing arts and craft, especially diamond painting and crocheting. Cheryl had an infectious smile that would light up the room; there were no strangers to Cheryl, only friends that she hadn’t met yet.
Cheryl is survived by her partner of 14 years, Stormin Norman; her sons Travese and Joseph Walters; sisters Jennifer McClain, Mary McClain, and Christine Moreno; nephew Daniel McClain; her step mother Patty McClain; and her beloved dogs: Manasseh, Makkedeh, MooCow, and Obadiah. She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin.
