Christopher Berdell Hunter

Christopher Berdell Weathers Hunter, 51, of Davenport Iowa passed away on June 5, 2025. A celebration of Chris’s life will be held Saturday, June 21st, 2025, from 12-1pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in East Moline, Illinois. The address for the church is 1501 6th Ave East Moline Illinois. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service time. Chris was born on June 1, 1974, in Rock Island Illinois to Flamous Ray Hunter and Berneta Weathers. He is a 1992 graduate of United Township High School in East Moline, Illinois. Chris was a dedicated athlete; he excelled at basketball, football and track. Chris loved his family, sports, Da Bears, Bob Marley and traveling. He was a smart, articulate, gentle giant that valued his loved ones. He was often the sounding board for those around him. He genuinely cared for others and helped whenever he could. He was truck driver and a jack of all trades.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Michael Goethals; grandson, Cameron Goethals, Aurora IL; sister, Stephanie Weathers, Fort Worth TX; brother, Careem Hunter, East Moline, IL.; a host of nieces and nephews and special friend, Jolene Rodriguez.

He was preceded in death by sister, Raytasha Weathers; father, Flamous Ray Hunter; maternal grandparents, George Weathers, Shirley Mae Weathers; paternal grandparents, George Fletcher Hunter, Flora Hunter and niece, Amia Weathers.
