Chris was born January 9, 1984 in Davenport; the son of Jim and Lisa (Shinn) Hass. He graduated in 2003 from Pleasant Valley High School and was working towards his journeyman’s card as a machinist. He had been with Schultz Engineering in Princeton, Iowa for the last 6 years.
Chris was “one” with nature, and as a survivalist, he chose to spend his time outdoors.
He knew diversity more than most and it allowed him to be open to everyone. People could feel how genuine he was and always tried to make those around him feel better, selflessly putting his own feelings aside. He had the biggest heart! He loved his friends and of course his family.
Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Jim and Lisa; sister: Nichole (Jason Rock) Simms, Davenport; Kaylin Hass, Nederland, CO and Leah Andresen, Kansas City; grandfather, Ben Shinn, LeClaire, IA; aunts and uncles: JoEllen (George) Loerzel, Rhonda (Carl) Swarts and Rex (Nora) Shinn, Mark (Patty) Shinn, Nancy (Terry) Thorne, Sandra Still and Susan (Dan) Bussell; nephews, Drake and Dayton Rock and numerous cousins, extended family and beloved friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Naomi Shinn, cousin, Julie Swarts and good friends, Jerry Kundert and Mackinzie Ervin.
