Claire V. Behrends, 70, of Eldridge passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. A memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 4105 N. Division St., Davenport. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm, Wednesday at the Runge Mortuary. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Claire was born in Lewiston, Maine a daughter of Antoine and Noella (Phillippon) Jones. On November 8, 1969 she married Larry Behrends in Lewiston Maine. She was employed by North Scott School District, retiring in 2012.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; son, Lt. Andrew Behrends; brother, Robert Jones and sister, Helen Grace both residing in Maine and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel.
She was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Claire made many friends across the country. But most of all, she was a devoted wife and mother.
