Clarence E. “Dolly” Parton, 60, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with illness. Funeral services will be at 4:30 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4:30 PM Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family. Online condolences and tributes may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. He was born June 30, 1953 in Cameron, MO, the son of Elmer E. and Lelia Parton. He spent many years on the road traveling to construction jobs. He was a strong, stubborn, persistent man who fought a good fight and loved his grandchildren dearly – they kept him going. He also loved to do woodworking and was a caretaker. Those honoring his life include: girlfriend, Brenda Steinecke; mother, Lelia Parton; daughters, Katie Parton, Maquoketa, IA, Robin Parton, Davenport, IA and Nicole Sypress, Orange, TX; grandchildren, Kale, Devon, Makinley, Dylan, Sierra and Talon. Clarence was preceded in death by his father, Elmer and infant sister, Peggy Sue.
