Clarence E. “Dolly” Parton, 60, of Davenport, passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 after a courageous battle with illness. Funeral services will be at 4:30 PM Thursday, April 24, 2014 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:30 to 4:30 PM Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the family. He spent many years on the road traveling to construction jobs. He was a strong, stubborn, persistent man who fought a good fight and loved his grandchildren dearly – they kept him going. He also loved to do woodworking and was a caretaker. Those honoring his life include: girlfriend, Brenda Steinecke; mother, Lelia Parton; daughters, Katie Parton, Maquoketa, IA, Robin Parton, Davenport, IA and Nicole Sypress, Orange, TX; grandchildren, Kale, Devon, Makinley, Dylan, Sierra and Talon. Clarence was preceded in death by his father, Elmer and infant sister, Peggy Sue.
