Craig Sours

Craig Sours, 58, of Davenport, IA, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025 at home. Cremation rites have been accorded, and a celebration of life will be held Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 1 to 5 p.m. at Gypsy Highway. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Craig was born on June 9, 1966 at Beal Air Force Base, CA to parents Thelma (Dauzat) and Melvin Sours. Craig worked at various pawn shops throughout his life as a pawnbroker. Outside of work, he had a passion for drumming. He was involved in a variety of local bands, making lifelong friends in the process. Together, they’d play at local bars and spend many nights jamming out. Craig also loved riding motorcycles and attending air shows. His bold personality was unforgettable.

Among those left to remember Craig include his life partner, Janice Durham; father, Melvin (Lynn); children, Brady Sours, Maryah Sours, Mason Sours; bonus children, Dori (Eric) Taplin, Matt (Darcy) Durham, Nicolas (Ariel) Durham, Danny (Charity) Lipke; 4 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 8 bonus grandchildren, 2 bonus great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Robert (Sue) Sours, Gary Sours, Wayne (Joan) Sours, Ronnie (Tonya) Denmon II; 3 step-sisters, Susan (David) Ryan, Debra (Jon) Argentina, Rebecca (Scott) Wallick, and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Craig was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma.
