Dallas D. Wright, 79 of Davenport, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Genesis East Medical Center. A family- led celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018. Burial will take place at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kings Harvest Pet Rescue. Online condolences may be expressed at www.rungemortuary.com. Dallas was born on June 9, 1939 in Bennett, Iowa, to William Clayton and Alma Mae (Juchter) Wright. He graduated from Bennett High School, and then from AIC Technical Institute for accounting. Dallas was united in marriage to Carolyn Hummel on October 15, 1966 in Missouri. Dallas retired after working in the accounting and flooring estimation business for over 30 years. Dallas was a member of Dad’s Club, where he enjoyed playing volleyball and coaching girls’ softball and basketball. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends along with his weekend morning trips to Hy-Vee for breakfast. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn; one daughter, Kristine (Brad) Clevenger; his brothers, Clyde, Arlo and Stanley; and step- grandchildren, Kaitlin and Calvin. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one daughter, Judith Ann Wright.
