Funeral services will be Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:30 am at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Darlene was born October 24, 1930 in Davenport, the daughter of Walter Wood and Mildred (Priest) Wood Stanek. She was formerly married to Wesley Wayne Batten. She was a member of AARP and the Plus 60 Club.
Darlene worked as a bookkeeper for Gabrilson Heating and Air for close to twenty years.
Those left to honor her memory include her children: Barbara (Gary) Cress, Davenport, Jayson Batten, Moline; 7grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Jeannie (Dave) Rounds and Jackie (Loy) Wood; brother, Dennis (Sandra) Stanek, all of Colona, IL and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, daughter, Lisette and son, Johnathon preceded her in death.
