David Alan Barker, 65, of Bettendorf, passed away unexpectedly on February 5, 2024. Cremation rites have been accorded per his wishes. Visitation will take place on February 10, 2024 at Weerts Funeral Home from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will follow after the visitation at 1:00 PM. David was born on January 22, 1959 in Winona, Minnesota to William and Wailana (Shaffer) Barker. He attended John Marshall High School, Rochester Minnesota, where he was quite proficient at baseball, golf and basketball. David went on to graduate from Winona State University with a degree in Marketing.
David was an avid outdoorsmen and enjoyed going bird hunting, fishing at Gull Lake, and golfing. He liked classic cars and knew everything possible about them. David’s nieces and nephews were very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. Family all around was very important to David and he valued time spent with them immensely. He could often be found with a Beefeaters and Tonic and an aromatic, slow burning cigar in hand.
David is survived by his significant other, Kelle Schone; Mother, Wailana Barker; Siblings, Dan (Kelly) Barker and Carmen (Norm) LeMay; and many important Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, and Nephews.
David was preceded in death by his father, William Barker.
