Services will be Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at 12 pm at The Runge Mortuary Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 am until the service at noon. Her final resting place will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island. In lieu of flowers, memorials may go to the American Diabetes Association or to the Scott County Humane Society. Debra was born in Peoria, IL on May 17, 1960. She was the daughter of Donald and Mary Lee (Kesseler) Jaegle. She graduated from Richwoods High School in 1978 in Peoria. She attended the University of Illinois for two years and then went to Bradley University where she graduated. She went to SIU Medical School, graduating in 1986. She then served her residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.
Upon moving to the area, she worked for Internal Medicine, PC for over 15 years and then worked for QC Internal Medicine and served as Medical Director for Hospice Compassus of Davenport. In her “retirement” years, she worked as a Hospitalist in Augusta, Maine, Poplar Bluff, MO and most recently at Parkland Health Center in Farmington, MO.
In earlier years, she worked as an ice hockey referee in her spare time. Later on she enjoyed cake decorating, yardwork, shopping and boating. She had a strong passion for the Humane Society and avidly supported them. She never met a stranger, human or animal. She married David C. Holden on April 1, 1995 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2009.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Sarah (Joe) Lutz; stepsons, Brian (Lisa) Nelson; Chad (Heather) Nelson; Jeff (Shylynn) Nelson and Brock Motley; grandchildren: Kolt, Jackson and Jacob; step-grandchildren: Emma, Katie, Madilyn, Aiden, Noah, Vera, Nathan, Joshua, Isabella; siblings: Diana (Jim) Richardson, David (Mel) Jaegle, Donna (Dale) Jones, Douglas Jaegle, Drew (Jennifer) Jaegle and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws: Shirley and Bob Holden.
The family would like to thank the staff at Parkland Medical Center and Barnes-Jewish Hospital for the wonderful care shown to Debra and her family. Your kindness will never be forgotten!
