

Davenport, IA Funeral services for Donald Stuhr, 73, of Davenport will be 1:00 pm on Friday at Cunnick-Collins Motuary, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Friday from 11:00 am to service time at the Mortuary. Burial will be at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, where military rites will be conducted by the Bettendorf VFW Post 9128.Donald died on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at his home in Davenport.Donald Stuhr was born on December 14, 1937 in Davenport, the son of Joseph and Caroline (Schadt) Stuhr. He married Anita Jean Honaker on 11-25-1960 in Hampton, VA. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2005. He served in the US Air Force during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He worked an Electrician for Koda in Cedar Rapids, he then was owner of D&D Wrecker Service.Don loved racing stock cars, he was also a member of the V.F.W. in Bettendorf, where he had served at Past Commander.Survivors include his daughter Marjorie “Dee” Teague and her husband Jerry of Belton, KY, son, Jeff Stuhr of Davenport, 5 grandchildren, Nick and Shannon Skiles, Nathan, Joey and Alex Stuhr, 3 great grandchildren, Austin, Race, and Lola Skiles, brother, Joseph Stuhr of Owensboro, KY, sisters Barbara (Richard) Davis and Joyce Stuhr all of Davenport.He is preceded in death by his wife, Anita, his parents, and a brother Richard StuhrMemorials may be made to the Bettendorf V.F.W. #9128.The family would like extend a thank you to his friends in law enforcement and to all his special friends at the Clarion Hotel.
