Donna M. Farus, 72, of Davenport passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Genesis East. A visitation will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at Weerts Funeral Home. Donna was born on October 15, 1949 in Davenport to Donald and Francis (McKenzie) Farus. She began receiving services from HDC in February of 1975 and became a resident on September 30, 1996. Donna knew everyone and what was happening at the center. She was known affectionately as the “Queen.” Everyone that knew Donna loved her. She had a warm and loving presence about her and was always happy. She surrounded herself in all shades of purple.
Survivors include Sandra (Jim) Partridge of Davenport; Janet Erps of Colorado Springs, CO and extended family including her cousins and her family at the Handicapped Development Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Aunt Agnes Lightner, Uncle Gene Lightner and Uncle Ronald Erps.
The family would like to acknowledge the grateful efforts from all of the staff at the Handicapped Development Center.
