Donna J. Sidney

Cremation will be performed with a private committal at the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. In lieu of flowers memorials in her name may be made to Scott County Humane Society. Please share condolences with family at www.rungemortuary.com.

Donna was born November 10, 1937, in Moline, IL to Ervin & Loretta (Oltman) Valentine. She was united in marriage to Ronald Sidney on October 1, 1960, in Silvis, IL. He preceded her in death May 29, 2024.

Donna was an immaculate housekeeper and home maker taking care of her family full time while the children were young. As they got older, she held various jobs over the years. She enjoyed genealogy and received Genealogical Iowa Governor's Volunteer Award in 1990 from Governor Terry Branstad. She found joy in the kitchen baking cookies and always ready to try a new recipe. She was the family hostess; family holiday gatherings were always at her house. She enjoyed her feeding the birds, going to the River Boats, and following Hawkeye Sports, Caitlin Clark and the Fever, and the KC Chiefs. She still kept in touch with her 55 Club, made up of friends from her East Moline High Class of 1955.

Donna is survived by 2 Daughters Julie (Mike) Latham & Rhonda Sigler; 10 grandchildren Trevor, Dylan, Tyler, Kayla (Ryan), Blake (Sarah), Ryan, Chad, Michael Latham, Abbey (Rhett) Buffington, Carter Sigler; and 5 great grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and stepsister Barb Dunbar.
