Dorothy Jane Carlson

Dorothy Jane Carlson, 86, of Davenport passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 in Davenport. Funeral services will be held at 10 am, Tuesday, April 8, 2014 in the Runge Mortuary Chapel. Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Monday, April 7, 2014 and 9-10 am on Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to High Point Bible Chapel. Mrs. Carlson was born and raised in Chicago. She attended Cornell College. On June 17, 1949 she married M. William (“Bill”) Carlson in Chicago. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1993. Dorothy was business manager for the family businesses, New Horizon Outdoor Equipment Co. and Econo-Methods Engineering Corp.

She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Dorothy accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior in June of 1960, which she considered the most important decision of her life. She was a member of High Point Bible Chapel.

Survivors include her children and spouses: Curtis W. and Sue Carlson of St. Petersburg, Florida, Douglas A. and Patty Carlson of Meridian, Idaho and Nancy B. and Jim Dunham of Cascade, Montana; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
