

Davenport, IA Private family graveside services for Edna Rasmussen, 80, of Bettendorf, will be held at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Sunday from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Edna passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2010, at Genesis Medical Center – West Campus, Davenport.Edna Louise Richardson was born on April 22, 1930 in Council Bluffs, Iowa, the daughter of Luff and Louisa (Frost) Richardson. She married Richard J. Rasmussen on October 8, 1948 in Rock Island.In her earlier years she worked for Illinois Bell Company, she then worked as a baker for the Bettendorf Schools, retiring in 1989. Edna was a member of the Community of Christ Church, Davenport, Eastern Star, Rock Island, and Royal Neighbors. She volunteered at area hospitals and at Cedar Valley Grove church camp in Mechanicsville. She enjoyed quilting, baking, cooking and traveling. She was a foster mother for 17 years and during that time had cared for over 100 children.Survivors include her husband, Richard of Bettendorf, daughters; Doralynn (Larry) Goettsch of Donahue, Karla (Richard) Enright of Bettendorf, Laurie (Bob) Zabloudil of Gahanna, Ohio, Deb Walkstall of Centralia,WA, six grandchildren, Michael & Sommer Enright of Maryland Heights,MO, Jamica & Dan Kirkendall of Sunbury, OH, Joe & Rachel Zabloudil of Gahanna,OH, Alicia Zabloudil of Gahanna,OH, Kyle Goettsch of Donahue,IA, Joe & Emerald McGehee of Centralia,WA, four great-grandchildren, Olivia Enright, Justice and Haven Kirkendall, and Hailey McGehee, sister; Cleo Acord of Rogers,Arkansas.She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister.Memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation or to Cedar Valley Grove and Outreach International.The family would like to thank Dr. Edwards and the staff at Genesis Medical Center for their care during Edna’s illness.Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.cunnick-collins.com
