Deepest sympathy to Rolla and all the family with special love to Alan and Kathy.  Lots of memories from Cody School.  Such a caring and supportive family.  Ed was a gentleman, a good worker, and a kind and pleasant person to have on our staff .  All can be proud of the legacy that he left.   With Gods Blessings,   Norma (and Rich) Hofmann.  

To the Posey family.   Very sorry for your loss.  We were neighbors so many years ago.   And back in the day,  I used to make everything from scratch.   Well,  EVERYTIME,  I made home made 🍞 bread,   as I took it out of the oven,   Ed would show up at our door.   My husband and Ed sat at my kitchen table eating warm bread,   and I said,   how does he always know.  😄😇    This is a FOND MEMORY.

I have lived in this neighborhood all but about 4 years of my entire 57 years on this earth and Rolla & Ed Posey have been our neighbors and really my other Mom & Dad, since I was about 5 years old. In fact Ed taught me how to ride a bike without training wheels when I was probably about 6. I was real upset one day that a boy on the bus  called me a baby cause I still had the training wheels on my bike and so I was crying & hiding over at the Poseys yard.   Ed came along and told me his boys aka  my other brothers were not home right now then he noticed me crying, long story short, he asked if I really wanted to learn how to ride my bike without training wheels and I still remember looking up at him and saying more than anything!! So he got a wrench and removed my training wheels. I didn’t pay much attention to my location as I was following him & probably talking his ear off as I walked with him  but we stopped at  the top of the hill in his back yard. For a 6 year old it could of been Mt. Everest , it was kinda steep!  He said get on your bike as I’m noticing the front tire is pointed down the hill!! Oh no no He said okay if you really want to learn this is it!  I’m going to let go and it’s up to you if you are gonna fall or keep going so he let go and I peddled my heart out! I went down the hill around the house and back to the top of the hill to Ed with his big old smile! I said thank you thank you and tossed the bike running to Ed & gave him a big hug! God how I loved him like a father!!Many years that man taught me things but mostly to appreciate the simple things and not to be afraid to ask for help. 50 years later I still use the values Ed, Rolla and the Posey boys taught me.  So glad I saw him a few weeks ago it was on a good day for him and we talked for hours! After my visit before I went back to my car I went to their back yard and looked down the same hill and smiled. I’m so blessed to know such a beautiful & kind man.
