Davenport, IA Funeral services for Ella “Marie” Harris, 78, of Davenport, will be 11:00 am on Friday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. Family will greet friends on Friday from 10:00 am to service time at the Mortuary. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Cunnick - Collins Mortuary and Cremation Service is assisting the family with arrangements.Marie passed away on Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at Good Samaritan Care Center, Davenport.Ella Marie Butler was born on January 27, 1932 in Davenport, the daughter of Jesse and Ethel (Robinson) Butler. She married Eugene Harris on April 7, 1949 in Davenport. She was a member of Berean Baptist Church, Davenport. Marie was a devout Christian and she spent many volunteer hours at the church. Having a special needs child of their own, she was inspired to open her home to many special needs foster children over the many years, She loved the outdoors and all animals, especially cats. Over the years her hobbies included gardening, sewing and crocheting.Survivors include her husband, Eugene of Davenport, sons; Dennis (Chris) Harris, David (Deb) Harris, Darrell (Dawn) Harris, all of Davenport, daughters; Kathleen (Clayton) Harris and Kristine (Donald) Orcutt both of Davenport, 14 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, sons; Scott and Douglas and sister, Joyce James.Memorials may be made to the family.Online condolences may be expressed to the family by visiting www.cunnick-collins.com
