Etta Ryan

Etta Cadogan Ryan, 85, of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Genesis West Medical Center Davenport. Funeral services will be 10:00Am Monday September 23, 2013 at the Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be 3-6 PM Sunday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Etta was born October 1, 1927 in Oelwein, IA, the daughter of Charles and Effie (Cousins) Peterman. She united in marriage to Benjamin Cadogan in 1948 and they later divorced. She then married Thomas Ryan in 1967 and they to later divorced.

Etta had been employed as US Postal Carrier for 29 years, retiring in 1997. She was a member of NALC and AARP. She loved to travel, and was a huge movie buff, who loved to go out with her friends to a show. Family & friends were her first priority and she was known as “Mom” to many; she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and took advantage of every opportunity to have family get-togethers.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Michael (Janice) Cadogan, Blue Grass; Kerry Cadogan, Lamoni, IA; Kevin (Brenda) Cadogan, Blue Grass; Sandra (Chuck) Mullinnix-Cox, Eldridge and Dr. Brian (Lisa) Cadogan, Rio Rancho, NM; 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Etta was preceded in death by her parents and 3 uncles who were like brothers.
