He was born on September 5, 1931 in Mystic, IA the son of Lester and Jennie (Thompson) Butler. Eugene was united in marriage to LouEllen “Susie” Rupp on January 12, 1955 in Rock Island, IL. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force and retired from JI Case.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, LouEllen “Susie”; sisters-in-law, Catherine Vanover, Joan Kruse and Joyce Jones; niece, Ronda Cunningham; nephew’s, Phillip Crochett and Kelly Kruse.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Jerry and four nephews; Alan, Brian, Rob and Kirk.
