Eugene L. Kelsey, 84, of Davenport, passed away peacefully Sunday, October 2, 2011 at his home. Per his wishes cremation rites will be accorded with a memorial service at a later date. Gene was born, June 13, 1927 in Solon, IA the son of Daniel and Mary (Nugent) Kelsey.
He graduated in 1945 from Iowa City High School later serving in the U.S. Army. He retired in 1987 from the RIA where he worked as a contract specialist.
Gene enjoyed going to the Rhythm City Casino and established a wonderful relationship with the boat’s staff. His family would like to thank them for all their friendship and support, also heartfelt thanks go out to Genesis Home Hospice for all their wonderful care.
Those left honoring his memory are many nieces and nephews.
Gene will be dearly missed by his buddy Jack, his cat.
He was preceded in death by, his parents and siblings, Nell, Mildred, Margaret, Daniel, Harold, James, and Dean.
