Funeral services will be held 12:00pm Friday, February 25, 2022 at the Runge Mortuary & Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00am until service time on Friday. Fay was born January 7, 1927 in Sheridan Township Scott County, IA to Fred & Edna (Horst) Peeters. She was united in marriage to Henry McCarrel on November 15, 1957 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on June 15, 2012.
Fay had worked as a bookkeeper/ secretary for WHBF Television earlier in life. She was an active member of Edwards Congregational Church serving the church in several capacities. Her kind giving personality lent itself to her volunteer work with her children’s activities and latter with the American Cancers society. Fay enjoyed ballroom dancing and bowling.
Survivors include son Theodor “Ted” McCarrel, Morning Sun, IA; daughter Pamela McCarrel-Burmeister, Crystal lake, IL; Grandchildren Colin, Breanna, Danielle, Lane, Annika, & Tyler; and great grandchildren Kamden, Paige & Beckett.
Fay was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Henry, and 8 siblings.
